4th Crown of the Traun – Soaked and Stoked

This year’s “Crown of the Traun” – as ever – did not disappoint! For the fourth time, Europe’s biggest river surf contest was held in the beautiful Salzkammergut region in Austria. From 19–20 May 2018, the picturesque town Bad Ischl turned into a river surfing epicentre leaving the riders nothing but “soaked and stoked”!

The local crew Rivermates did a fantastic job in organising the event that gave more than 50 river surfers from Austria and Germany the chance to compete for this year’s crown. More than 400 spectators gathered at the river bank to watch Europe’s river surfing elite pulling off impressive tricks, despite water levels being not exactly ideal. For the first time, the entire contest could be followed live – if you missed out on this, check out the live stream link to watch the stream again.
