I don't think telling paddle boarders to never wear a leash is the best advice. I know there are paddle board leashes that incorporate a quick release pin with pull-cord that can be rapidly detached by the user in the event the leash gets snagged on rocks, or something else underwater. Using a paddle board leash with a quick release is the better option, because losing your board, can be equally as bad for your health. I recommend OMNA SUP Leashes because in addition to being a leash they are also a FDA-regualted tourniquet, and have a quick release feature.
