This wave is directly downstream from an industrial factory that has released a large amount of slag that contains mercury, lead, and other toxic metals into the river for decades. It has been declared a superfind site as of 2024.
 Cleanup operations have been starting, but I would be very, very nervous about surfing in that water for at least a generation</description>
