The river surfing community is in deep shock after a man died in Austria yesterday. A leash has claimed the life of a 41 year old river surfer, husband and father of three children. His leash got caught around a rock and he was pushed underwater. Due to the force of the water he wasn’t able to unstrap his leash. It took the water rescue teams over 1.5 hours to drag him out of the wave in front of the eyes of his wife and three children. Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful, the man died at the spot.
