Surf Contest — Munich 2026

On June 18 and 19, Munich’s iconic Floßlände river wave will host the Junior & Community Jam, a fun-filled surf event open to participants of all ages and skill levels. Organized by the IGSM (Interessengemeinschaft Surfen in München), the competition is all about bringing the local river surfing community together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Participation is completely free of charge, making it the perfect opportunity for newcomers, experienced surfers, families, and friends to spend a great day at one of Europe’s best-known river waves.

Due to the current low water levels, the event will take place on both days from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Registration is available on the IGSM website, and organizers are encouraging as many surfers as possible to sign up. A strong turnout will send an important message to local decision-makers: Munich’s growing river surfing community needs additional river waves to meet increasing demand, and the existing Floßlände wave deserves a reliable water supply throughout the winter months.

While these topics are important for the future of river surfing in Munich, the Junior & Community Jam itself is first and foremost a fun contest. The focus is on enjoying the wave, celebrating the community, and sharing the stoke with surfers of every generation.

Whether you’re competing, cheering from the riverbank, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Junior & Community Jam promises a fantastic weekend for everyone who loves river surfing.
