Almabtrieb – River Surfing Contest

We’re stoked to announce that the “2015 Almabtrieb River Surf Contest” will be held at the Almwave in Salzburg on August 29. Local river surfers, the Rivermates Surfclub Salzkammergut and delight alliance have all been working together to put up this event.

The name “Almabtrieb” (literally: drive from the mountain pasture) relates to an annual tradition in the alpine regions in Europe, referring to a cow train in autumn. Such an epic name pretty much guarantees the fun surfers will have at this event. Here are all details you need to know at a glance.

Heat duration: 10 minutes (except finals: 15 minutes)
0-10 scores per wave
Only the two best waves count
The two best surfers qualify
