Why River Surfers Should Register for the 2nd River Wave Forum
So you are a river surfer and still not sure if you should register for this year’s River Wave Forum? This unique gathering of mind-liked river surf enthusiast will go down on August 1st-2nd in the city of Munich. Besides in-depth presentations on the technical details of wave building, the forum is a unique chance for you to listen to the experiences of wave builders, initiatives and professional river surf athletes. But why should you register for this event, even if you are not a wave building expert? Why does it pay off for you to register as a river surfer?
There are countless reasons why the forum is highly relevant to everyone who surfs river waves. First of all, this event is a great chance for you to look behind the scenes of river surfing and wave construction. You will get the chance to chat with professional athletes like Tao Schirrmacher and others about our sport, how river waves actually work and what the associated risks are. It’s a place for you to meet other surfers and experts, make new connections and create networks that focus on the sport of river surfing.

No waves, no surfing. It is really that simple! The Munich example has demonstrated how an originally large number of waves can quickly diminish to only a few surfable waves. We all know the issues of huge crowds sharing one single wave. This is one of the many reasons why the forum is so significant. Only a large and strong community can create awareness, build waves and help river surfing to thrive. We see the forum as an exciting opportunity to build and strengthen this community-spirit we need for the future of our beloved sport.
We certainly do not want to indoctrinate you on how to build river waves, or how to approach a new wave project in your community – we want to chat with you and stimulate a lively discussion, so river surfing can move to its next stage. It’s not only the presenters or organisers that make up the forum, it is all the people that surf river waves. The forum, that is us all!

Flusswellenforum – was bringt’s mir?
In knapp einem Monat ist es wieder so weit, das letztes Jahr bereits erfolgreich gestartete Flusswellenforum in München geht in die zweite Runde. Interessante technische Vorträge, gepaart mit Erfahrungen von Wellenbauern, Initiativen und Profisportlern verheißen auch für heuer wieder ein sehr interessantes Programm. Aber was nützt das dem 0815 Surfer, der 2 oder 3 Mal die Woche surfen geht und nur Spaß haben will? Wieso sollte man die 60 Euro statt in Finnen in das Forum investieren?
Es gibt tausende von Punkten, warum das für alle Surfer interessant ist. Ihr bekommt einen Blick hinter die Kulissen, könnt euch mit namhaften Sportlern wie Tao Schirrmacher persönlich austauschen und lernt, wie Wellen funktionieren und somit auch, wie ihr Gefahren besser einschätzen könnt. Ihr könnt Kontakte knüpfen und neue Leute und Freunde kennen lernen, genau diesen Punkt greifen wir jetzt mal heraus.
Ohne Welle kein Surfen, ganz einfach. München hat in den letzten Jahren erlebt, wie die große Anzahl an Wellen immer kleiner wurde, bis sich schlussendlich alles an ein paar Wellen staute. Gerade deshalb ist es wichtig, das Forum zu unterstützen und zu besuchen. Nur eine starke und auch große Community kann Bewusstsein bilden, Wellen bauen und das Surfen weiterbringen. Am Forum passiert genau das, neben dem fachlichen Wissen, das weitergegeben wird, schweißen uns solche Veranstaltungen zusammen.
Wir wollen euch nicht frontal belehren, wie ihr Wellen am besten baut, oder wie ihr ein Projekt für eine Welle am besten angeht – wir wollen mit euch darüber diskutieren, denn nur so, bringen wir den Sport, den wir so lieben, wirklich voran. Nicht die Vortragenden oder die Organisatoren alleine sind das Forum, alle Surfer und Surferinnen da draußen gehören dazu – Wir alle sind das Forum.
Wir alle, jeder zählt dazu, egal wie sehr er oder sie das Flusssurfen unterstützt. Deshalb meldet euch jetzt an. Nicht für uns, nicht für die Vortragenden, nicht für euch – Sondern für den Sport!
