Little Horses

Little Horses is a decent size flood level river wave. The best time to hit the wave is at high flows in spring, fall and winter. There are 1-2 surfable sections on the wave, allowing 2-3 people to river surf simultaneously.

Nearest town/city: Lyon, France
River: Rhône
Directions: Near Lyon, go to PARC de Miribel-Jonage (exit 4 on the A42-E611). In the roundabout take the exit to Centers Equestres (the first exit when you come from Lyon). Drive one kilometer to a second roundabout and take the second exit. You can park at your right hand side. The wave is just 100 meters down, but you need to walk.

Wave Details

Characteristics

The wave can by surfed at high water levels on the Rhône River. Check the level with the “River App” at Perrache Station (minimum flow: 800m3/s).

Dangers

Be aware of large trees after extreme rainfall. Powerful stream.

Tips

To exit the wave, flow down with the stream, there is a little beach on the left, approximately 100 after the wave.
