The Mountain
Fast, steep, green wave with sharp right shoulder and meaty left shoulder. Knee to waist high wave and shallow challenging run out. This wave was built by the ARSA team and as part of the Surf Anywhere project. The wave was built as a testing grounds to learn more about river waves and share the information with the world.

Directions: 40 minutes West of Calgary. Number 1 out of town –> Exit to Highway 40 –> enter Canoe Meadows Parking lot. If you hit Barrier Lake, you’ve gone too far. Turn around and head back to the Barrier Lake info centre for directions. From Canoe Meadows parking lot. Head west towards the river and through the camp ground. When you hit river follow up stream until you see the surfers.

Characteristics
Steep face built for shredding.
Dangers
Shallow run out. Leashes are a hazard as the bedrock is exposed. Fall flat until you pass the shollow pit and then retrieve board and swim to shore. Only surf if you can land flat on the water. Any part that goes deep will hit rocks. If you go as far as the second berm motion to the surfers up stream for help.
